Perfectly Imperfect: Why Messing Up is Part of the Magic
Let’s talk about wabi-sabi — the Japanese philosophy that sees beauty in imperfection and impermanence. That’s my parenting mantra.
We will mess up. We'll snap. We'll forget. We'll do things we regret. But it’s in the repair, not the perfection, that we show our kids how to be human.
I’ve learned that when I circle back to apologize, explain, or simply reconnect — my kids learn that relationships take care, courage, and communication. They see that love isn’t about perfection. It’s about coming back together.
Perfect parenting isn’t real. But perfectly imperfect parenting — honest, messy, loving — that’s where the magic lives.
Big hugs,
Tara
