Raising kids without losing your mind needs a village. Coaching in a group allows you to gain valuable parenting insights with the shared wisdom and encouragement of others who are also going through it. ✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • Yes! What a beautiful gift, perfect for parents at any stage. Talk to the recipient prior to pursasing to ensure they are ready to make the time commitment or consider a workshop that speaks directly to their needs. The Family Mission Statement workshop makes a great gift!

Set up a introductory call to discuss options.

  • Yes! Coaching together can help you get on the same page and build a stronger support system. Please note that parent coaching is not therapy. If there are deeper rooted relationship challenges, I will refer you to a therapist or counselor who is trained to support your needs.

Note that coaching services are not transferable, however, you may include one companion of your choice, such as a co-parent, partner, spouse, or another significant caregiver for all or select sessions. Only one companion may be chosen and may not be changed during the program. The companion should be from the same household. If the companion is from a different household, consider signing up for our group coaching program.

If possible, the companion should log in with the primary participant so that they share one video screen. Companions will also share log in to course materials.

  • No. Parent coaching is for proactive growth and not just crisis management. All parents will benefit from parent coaching because all parenting is a step into the unknown.

For parents who are struggling with behavior issues, a family crisis, transition anxiety or a myriad of other challenges life throws our way, parent coaching offers a framework to ground yourself and your family so you can stay rooted through turbulent times.

    Parent coaching can help with:

    • Managing tantrums and emotional outbursts

    • Improving parent-child communication

    • Establishing consistent routines and boundaries

    • Navigating co-parenting dynamics

    • Reducing parental stress and burnout

    • Enhancing emotional regulation for both parents and children

Families who are struggling with challenges that require clinical support are welcome to enroll in parent coaching as a complement to professional therapies. Please remember that parent coaching is not a replacement for clinical care or therapy.

  • While therapy often delves into diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, parent coaching focuses on present challenges and future goals. It's an action-oriented process that provides practical tools and strategies to enhance parenting skills, improve communication, and strengthen family dynamics.

    Please read my disclaimer:

A Certified Parent Coach is not the same as a counselor, psychologist or mental health professional. I do not provide therapy or diagnosis services. All services provided by Good Roots Parenting are considered coaching or educational sessions. Good Roots Parenting does not accept insurance and does not diagnose or provide procedural codes for insurance billing. By scheduling a service with Good Roots Parenting, you are acknowledging that you understand you will be participating in parent coaching or parent education, not therapy.

  • Completing all of the sessions will give you the most bang for your buck! Each week the topics we cover will build on the previous weeks. But, if you get behind - no worries! - the materials are yours forever so at any point you can go back and review the content.

For individual coaching clients, I know life gets tricky and scheduling can be difficult. You will have 3 months to schedule your 12 sessions through the online portal. I would recommend to complete one session each week because the content is rich, but if scheduling requires, it is possible to combine sessions or schedule multiple sessions in one week.

I will work with you to complete the program because I want you to have the transformational experience you desire.

  • Because I am also a parent with a crazy schedule, right now I am only offering virtual coaching. But please check out my workshops if you are in the DC metro area - limited workshops will be offered in person for those who are local.

  • No. Parent coaching is open to all philosophies, religions, and worldviews because it is grounded in attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and cognitive development.

  • I understand that investing in parent coaching is a big decision—and it’s important to feel confident about your choice. Because spaces in the program are limited and involve a significant commitment of time and resources, all purchases are non-refundable once your coaching program or group has begun.

That said, I am completely committed to your growth and satisfaction. If you’re unsure whether this program is right for you, I strongly encourage you to schedule a free discovery call before enrolling. During that call, we’ll explore your goals, answer your questions, and make sure Good Roots parent coaching approach is a great fit for your needs.

For digital products (like workbooks or printables), all sales are final due to the nature of immediate access. If you have any technical issues accessing materials, please reach out—I am happy to help!

If unforeseen circumstances come up before your program begins, please contact me directly at [email protected] - I will do my best to accommodate your situation.

  • I get it. Time is a precious, non-renewable resource. In the grand scheme of your child's 18 years at home and then beyond, 12 weeks is a small investment to build a deeply connected relationship. If 12 weeks is more than you can bite off right now, contact me for individual coaching and we can narrow the topics down to create a custom package that fits your needs right now. The last thing I want you to do is wait until you have the time, because we know it slips by so quickly.
